The flowers of summer
can still be seen
And the grass is still growing
bright and green
There is a chill
in the evening air
Signs of autumn
are everywhere
The trees are wearing
their brightest hues
And Mom’s dragging out
the overshoes
Housecleaning,
football
posters galore
Halloween costumes
are seen in the store
And I have suddenly realized
I must take my car
To be winterized!
